I heard that God died
For this seriously flawed
Planet where
Death has not much
kindness left.
I held forth
My hands
Despite the chance
I stood someday
Bereft.
That day has come
The stars have lost
Their shine, for
”Twas in my angst I realized
That one of his was mine.
