I have worked as a Healthcare coordinator, HR Manager for over 26 yrs, and still employed (19 +years) as a Property Manager of a large complex (I joke that I’m the mayor of a small city). I have raised 4 children, one of whom (a daughter) ❤️has recently completed suicide,which has changed my life forever. I have 8 lovely grandchildren. I love to write poetry and short stories, cook, explore religious experiences and be in charge of stuff :)

The door of morn on rosy hinges
A day birthed new~beckons me.
In silent awe I gaze on dawn light
Hoarding time in prayer to start right

Soaping away the Day January 2014
Leaning in, washing,
soaping away the day,
I broodingly eye the sudsy water …
coil and swirl down the drain,
taking the grime of life with it.
Is that weariness I see clinging to the
basin edges? I wipe it clean, loosening it’s grip
before it finds me again, re-settling.

It is easy to be gracious
On a sunny day.
People smile
And bask in the rays,
Pretending it is spring,
However, it’s still far away.
Coats flung open to the breezes
And splashing through puddles
Mindful of the moment
Content till it freezes.
Silently I Creep January 2014
Silently I creep
Down the crowded corridors of my mind,
Tentatively toying with the doorknobs
of rooms containing suppressed memories.
I hear them
Like an overbooked hotel, whispering
Eager to crowd the hallways
In hopes of recognition and validation.
Restlessly I slumber
Unwilling to commit, I strain to decipher
Reluctant to open a door recalling
Malaise, despair or buried pain
The alarm sounds
Silently I face the clock, the murmurs fade
I throw back the covers,
Relieved that choice is gone.

In the quiet of my mind
I ponder Death.
I met him again today
Walking out the door with furniture,
Carrying away any memory of a man who
As quietly as he lived,
vacated life and the building.
I place a notice.
